Church Council Minutes

  There are no strangers in the Church of Jesus Christ, only friends we haven't met yet" When I first heard this statement a while back I was struck by its warmth and kindness. I hope you are, too. Though we may not have met in person yet, I hope you will regard all of us at Emanuel as your friends in Jesus Christ. While the internet gives us the opportunity to be anonymous, God's church invites us to be known. Through His Word, Spirit, and people the invitation goes out for us to come together and become like a family. Being known, coming together, and sharing Christian love are all blessings that come with belonging to a church family. This is your invitation to get know what a wonderful church family Emanuel is, to become a part of it, and to experience genuine Christian love. How can we extend such an invitation to people we don't know? We can do it because Jesus Christ did it when He walked on this earth and because we are His disciples. We actively follow His example and instruction to love everyone with a holy love, to be welcoming and kind, and to be genuine without regard to person or wealth or status.
  

     If this sounds good to you then please accept our invitation. We want to meet you,  get to know you, and enjoy your company. We think you would love being a part of this church family and the big family of people all over the world who worship and serve Jesus Christ. Being new to Emanuel myself, I know you would!
